Description
The 2022 American Silver Eagle was the first full year of the current design: Adolph A. Weinman’s Walking Liberty on the obverse and Emily Damstra’s eagle landing with an oak branch (Type 2) on the reverse.
Each coin is struck by the United States Mint from one troy ounce of 0.999 fine silver, carries a $1 face value, measures 40.6 mm across and has a reeded edge. Coins are sold in Brilliant Uncirculated condition, as struck for bullion: they are not third-party graded and do not come in a graded holder.
Collectors who want a complete run of the Type 2 series usually start with 2022, the first year struck entirely with the new reverse.
